The text contains detailed explanations of the engineering of the pump and comparisons with pumps of other designs. Supported by 24 figures, beautiful engineering drawings. Good quality paper. Externally the covers show some minor spotting; a previous owner has written 'AIR PUMPS' neatly in block letters on the spine; the spine is a little darkened; one corner slightly ruffled; else fine.
