Tait, a golfer celebrated for his unparralleled power, and aptitude for long hitting. Bound in publisher's variant green cloth with illustration of golf caddy and clubs stamped in gilt to front board. Titles in gilt to spine and front board. Several interesting newspaper clippings to flyleaves and rear pastedown. Ownership bookplate of John Stafford Reid Byers to front pastedown. Deckled edges. Cloth in excellent condition, with one small white mark to front board. Sunned to spine. Gilt bright. Generally clean throughout excepting spotting to first and final few leaves. Multiple photographic illustrations with tissue guard. Lovely frontispiece photograph with tissue guard shows Tait sitting next to a trophy. An excellent copy, with interesting additions.

Illustrated throughout with full page colour illustrations and decorative head and tailpieces to each story. With the publisher's review slip loosely inserted. Lightly handled and toned, marginally sunned to spine. Near fine.

Photographic frontispiece and fifteen double sided half tone plates. Original cartographic endpapers bound in at rear. A fine copy in a smart modern binding.

London: Printed for Jacob Tonson, 1713. [Verse Translations] FIRST COLLECTED EDITION, an early printing. Octavo (20 x 13cm), pp.l; 550 [4]. With an engraved frontispiece. Contemporary full speckled calf, with raised bands and gilt titles and decoration to spine. All edges speckled red. Some minor ink notes to fly-leaf. Top 1.5cm of title page trimmed away, probably due to an ownership. Otherwise a crisp, clean copy internally. Heavy wear to spine, with much gilt rubbed away, including all the titles, with some loss to head-cap. Upper joint split, but holding well. Lighter wear to boards. Good. An early printing of Dryden's last published collection, originally appearing in the year of his death, and issued again in the collected works of 1701.

Toning to first and final leaf else clean within. Exterior fresh and bright showing only gentle use. A fine copy.

Moderately toned throughout, with some markings and a large repair to blank facing title page. Repairs using archival tape also to pp.17-20. Light wear to binding. A very good copy.

The book is housed in a cloth solander box with gold foil blocking. The inside of the drop-back box is lined with the poster 'Nod's As Good As A Wink' artwork. Accompanying the deluxe edition is a numbered artist print, individually signed by Ronnie Wood. All presented inside an orange drawstring bag. A fine, as-new copy, still in the original card mailer. Author's presentation note in his customary sharpie to title page; For / Hef - /... in case you want / to read the rest of / the story! // With all good wishes, - // Raymond Benson. Fine condition. A significant copy; Hugh Hefner (1926-2017) was the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine, in which many of Ian Fleming's James Bond stories first appeared. According to Raymond Benson "the appearances of Fleming's work in Playboy did much to perpetuate the Bond/Playboy image in the early days of the author's fame in America" (The James Bond Bedside Companion, p.24). The tradition of Bond in Playboy was revived by Raymond Benson in the 90s when he became the official James Bond novelist. Some chapters of 'The Facts of Death' appeared in Playboy prior to publication, hence the inscription in Hef's personal copy.

Publisher's gilt-stamped parchment over boards, top edge gilt, others untrimmed, silhouette endpapers. With what appears to be the original clear acetate jacket. A lovely fine copy, inside and out. With original lot ticket from a previous sale loosely inserted (Christie's, London 9th July 2002, £1765). A timeless collection of fairy stories wonderfully illustrated by Rackham, including The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling, The Tinder-Box, Thumbelina, The Princess and the Pea, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, and many more.

SIGNED by both author and illustrator in black ink, each to a separate bookplate on the verso of the fly-leaf and on the half-title. Publisher's blue cloth with gilt titles to spine, and blue illustrated endpapers. With the dust-jacket also illustrated by Foreman, not priced. Light rubbing and bumping to board edges. Near fine. A collection of thirty original Fairy Tales by the Monty Python star, and Mediaeval scholar, originally written for his daughter Sally.

A nice clean copy, with wear to binding and some re-colouring to spine and corners. Very good. Containing translations from the French of the following stories: 'The Four Facardins'; 'Zeneyda'; 'The Story of May-Flower'; 'The Ram'; and 'The Enchanter Faustus'.
