Original poems in English with Italian translations facing. Signed and inscribed by Burford to the former owner on the ffep. Textured, gray card wrappers stamped in gilt, corners bumped, text block toned else nearly fine. Inscribed copy of this uncommon collection from modernist poet and longtime Dallas resident, William Burford (1927-2004).  Contains two illustrations, "Figura Rosa," and "Faccia Della Terra," by Sergio Vacchi, with a translation and introduction by Alfredo Rizzardi.  Burford was apparently not impressed with the publication, his inscription reading: "please forget the pictures and the introduction, none of my doing, but the poems are mine, I must confess, and one or two of them may please you." .

S. edition published by Stokes in 1895. Publisher's green cloth with silver illustration and lettering shows very little wear. Fine and clean internally with single page of ads at rear. Exemplary copy of this collection.

Red variant binding with silver illustration and lettering to front cover and spine, and silver stained top edge. Complete with original glassine jacket which has discolored over time and has substantial chipping along top and bottom edges and spine, but is otherwise complete, and quite scarce thus. First edition with single page of publisher's ads at rear.

Lightly bumped lower corner, price sticker to rear wrap, else near fine. Finely printed poetry chapbook from longtime professor at the University of Houston and poet, Robert Phillips (1938-2022).  Phillips was the director of the creative writing program at the U of H from 1991-1996, his predecessor being Donald Barthelme.

New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1935. Second Large Printing, stated on jacket. 8vo, 373pp. Frontis, black and white photos throughout. Signed and inscribed by Ishimoto to the former and dated 1937, in Tokyo, on the ffep. Beige cloth with blue, illustrated labels on upper board and spine, top edge stained red. Very good with minimal wear to boards, spine label lightly faded. Jacket spine sunned and with chipping at spine ends and corners, and a couple tape repairs to the underside. Signed copy of this autobiography from Shidzue Katō (1897-2001), influential Japanese feminist who was particularly important in establishing birth control education in japan.  Following the publication of this work, Katō would go on to serve as the first woman elected to the national legislature of Japan.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Times, United Feature Syndicate, 1935. 8 of the advertised 16 pages of the Los Angeles Times Sunday comics, in full color, 23x15.5." Moderate chipping to edges and wear along horizontal fold, mainly at ends. Good condition. Full-page Sunday strip from the series "The Aviatrix," with artwork by Rex Maxon.

Very scarce uncorrected proof (advance copy) of this classic horror/thriller from Hjortsberg, which was later made into a film called "Angel Heart." Long proof, near fine in publisher's plain blue wraps with black lettering. Very early copy of the proof with publication date and price unknown. Interestingly, the title is "Falling Angels," and the "s" has been crossed out on the cover and title pages, making the name singular, which it would be at release. Wraps show some toning to edges, a bump to the foredge of the page block, and very light wrinkling to spine, else clean.

Very good with boards slightly bowed and spine slightly cocked. Page block a bit wavy. Jacket shows minimal wear. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall.

Washington - New York: Robert B. Luce, Inc, 1975. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Stated second printing. Signed and inscribed by the Wheaton College professor and piano technique expert, Reginald R. Gerig. This copy from the library of Madeleine L'Engle to whom the book is warmly inscribed by Gerig and dated in 1985. Wheaton College Archives and Special Collections houses the Madeleine L'Engle Papers, 1918-2006, which may be the connection here. L'Engle's mother was also a musician and fine pianist. Very good copy with some toning to edges of boards and dusty top edge of page block. Very good price-clipped jacket shows light wear to top edge and some soiling to rear panel.

Very good with chipping and wear to edges, some tearing to covers at the joints, and former owner's name to rear cover. Collects "The Living Dead," by Edgar Rice Burroughs among other stories published in the quarter by the monthly Fantastic Adventures magazine.
