New York: R. Worthington, 1865. Book. Illus. by profuse full page steel engravings, including battle maps. Very Good. Decorative Cloth. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. A nice, very solid edition of this classic, written during and just after the Civil War. I find no date of publication for this set, in original brown cloth with a design of black wheels and leaves on the front of each volume, and title in gilt on the unfaded three spines. Heavy, thick books that have no hinge issues and very slight wear to the cloth. There are two rubs to the front cover of volume one only. An early and important account of the battles and military leadership of the Civil War. .
