Noted across from the half title page, "This, the first two-volume edition of GONE WITH THE WIND, issued December 1, 1939, in appreciation of Margaret Mitchell's magnificent work in commemorating the life and times of the Old South, is limited to one thousand copies, of which this is copy No. 328". Confederate flag in gilt on the front cover of each book, gilt decoration on spines. Top edges are gilt. Original glassine dust jackets and original slipcase. The books are in outstanding condition, like new, no marks or previous owner's names. The original slipcase with the original label on the spine is worn along the edges, sides and bottom, but it did it's job for over 70 years and protected the two volumes. The slipcase may be worn, but a better copy of this scarce, limited, numbered set will not be found.
