Frappa was a French screenwriter and author. This is the first volume (of two) of Pierrefeu's account for three years at the French army's Staff Headquarters on the Western Front during the Great War. He enlisted in 1914, was wounded and deemed unfit for active service. He joined military intelligence and was responsible for drafting the official communiques for the army. This is a certificate issued just after the General Strike of 1926, thanking Miss E Johnson for acting as a canteen worker, and issued by the London General Ominbus Company, with the recipients name handwritten and printed signatures of the chairman and staff officer of the company. It measures 21 × 24.5cm, and is printed on one side only, with text and coloured heading printed in red, blue, purple and gold. Condition: It is in very good condition for age, a few small marks but uncreased.

Alma Tadema was one of the most highly renowned romantic artists of the late 19th century. A collection of poems by Scottish poet Thomas Campbell. Gertrude of Wyoming is set in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania and the massacre that occurred there on July 3, 1778 when more than three hundred American Revolutionaries died at the hands of Loyalists and their Iroquois allies. Condition: The leather is quite heavily worn and the front joint is weak with the upper board nearly detached. The pages are foxed to the title pages but the main body of text is in good order. A battered copy with an interesting provenance.

Lorca's poems (in Spanish Romancero gitano) were written in 1928 and consists of eighteen romances with subjects like the night, death, the sky, and the moon. All of the poems deal with the Romani people and their culture, used by Lorca as a theme used to carry the larger message that the poet was trying to convey. The first, Private Parts, chronicles one narrator's "sexual and spiritual childhood and adolescence". The second, Girl in Gingham, follows the narrator's search for the perfect mate via an online dating service, with the undertone being his realization of people trying to invent themselves to fit what others want, or the ideals of their culture. Private Parts first appeared in Canadian Fiction Magazine in 1977 where it won the contributor's prize, and second was printed in Fiddlehead, a Canadian literary journal. Condition: The book itself is in very good condition, with some light dusting to the top edge.
