OCLC locates nothing of the Society with this title and date.

He is also listed in the Class of 1880 Roster and there is a great record of the Graduation Ceremonies explicit in every detail. TR material this early is quite scarce.

Charles Bragin, an avid collector of dime novels, used his vast personal collection to issue a series of reprints in the late 1940s. This enterprise became known as the Dime Novel Club and was based in Brooklyn, New York. For a small fee, collectors around the country would receive the reprints through the mail. The dime novels featured heroes such as Buffalo Bill, Frank Merriwell, Nick Carter, and Deadwood Dick.

A line of early pulp paperback books; this one a "Victorian era novel focusing on the life of British soldiers and the British military. John Strange Winter was the pseudonym for Henrietta Eliza Vaughan Stannard, 19th century English author. Most of her work focused on military life, with Ruskin noting Winter as the 'author to whom we owe the most finished and faithful rendering ever yet given of the character of the British soldier,' (Wikipedia).

Very good with light wear and sporadic foxing. Elizabeth Cooper wrote travel style novels which were early feminist accounts of women of other cultures. The book is illustrated with photos of views, women at work and ordinary life, as if it were a work of non-fiction travel.
