Very Good or better with toning and soiling, small stain to rear cover. A school music teacher for over 30 years, Paula Miriam Grossman was dismissed when she returned to work after her sex reassignment surgery in 1971. She sued the school district on the basis of sex discrimination. Her lawsuit, Grossman v. Bernards Township Board of Education, was ultimately unsuccessful, but it garnered national media attention. Grossman never returned to teaching, and instead began performing as a pianist and singer. She lectured on the case and her experiences, appearing on national television programs covering the controversy of her dismissal. A very scarce handbook.

Very Good with general light wear and mild toning, some creasing at bottom left corner. Handwritten note from Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson to his childhood friend Paul Semonin, on a pictorial postcard from the Continental Hyatt House in Hollywood, California. It reads in full: "What now? Why? And what next? Send word - H. [circled]" As chronicled in his story "Mescalito," Hunter first tried mescaline at the Continental Hyatt House in February of 1969, so it can be assumed that this card was purchased on / during that trip.
