Description:
Published by Jonathan Cape, London; 1998. 8vo. Fine/Fine. This lovely book is a near perfect example if this first edition by the popular author Martin Amis. This collection of short stories have been said to rival his novels with their new or inverted worlds and frank satire. This book is in Fine condition, bound in it's original navy cloth boards, there is a small white mark to the front board and the slightest amount of bumping to the top of the spine. Inside the pages are clean and bright, tightly bound and blemish-free. The dust jacket is also in Fine condition, with a tiny amount of bumping to the top of the spine, but otherwise it is clean and bright and in lovely condition. Inall this is an excellent example of this modern first edition.

Description:
Published by Vizetelly and Company, London; 1851-1853. 4 vols. Condition: Good.
Bound in original blue cloth, the bindings are in smart condition. There is some wear to the edges and darkening to the spines and edges. There is minor marking and rubbing to the boards, with some staining and wear to the boards spine on vol 2, and the spine of vol 3 is separating down the rear edges. Inside, other than the toning and age spotting expected of books this age, the pages are clean and bright and in excellent condition. The only real point to note is the tear to the title page of volume 1, which goes about a third of the way up the page. There is a neat ownership inscription to the ffep of each volume.
In all, the books are in good condition, although they have gained a little damage and wear over the years, they remain complete, smart, and very collectible.
