Inscribed on front end page, "To Anne B. (last name): in happy recollection of a lonely Sunday afternoon in -Honolulu- Sincerely, Louis Cochran Santa Monica 3-11-1960 States First Edition 1955. Book Near Fine, Dust Jacket Good. Top spine worn with small rips, same with corners. Bottom edge worn badly and missing about 1/4" from the back side of the spine and narrowing to the middle of front cover. A couple of tears backside (no pieces missing).

Gift inscription on top of title page . Rest of book is in Very Good shape . Remnants of old price sticker with pucker on cover .

Inside VG - one pop up is creased. Worn corners to Hardcover, has edgewear. Most of the top layer of the spine peeled off and there are multiple pieces of tape horizontally along the edge of the spine which is showing about 1/2" to an inch at places on the cover. Su-11 35 cents on cover.

Personalized on front page, see photo. No dj. worn along edges & corners, some discoloration and spots of color worn off. 5/8" top layer of paper torn off on front end page. One page has a tear, see photo.

Both books are in VG condition with Poor Dust Jackets which have an old garage sale price written in black marker, multiple tears with pieces missing and creases. Please see photos.

This spiral bound softcover is sound/usable but has many stains. The front wrapper has a large crease. There is a slit in the spiral spine and a tear in the plastic overlay.
Appears to be mid century since some of the many advertisers' phone numbers start with letters and it was published before zip codes. The names of the recipe contributors are listed.
The Chicago Junior School was
founded in St. Joe MI. in 1913 and moved to Elgin, IL. in 1923. It "provided a home and a school for boys and girls of grade school age who temporarily lack adequate home environment and to inspire them with ideals of right living." It later became the Fox River Country Day School.
It was in existence for 98 years until 2011. In 2012 the bank foreclosed on the school which was architecturally significant with buildings designed by John Van Bergen. A clean copy inside but pages have yellowed. Wrapper has some wear.

States First American Edition June, 1999. Printing Line 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 9/9 0/0 1 2 3 4. Opposite title page Rowling's first book Sorcerer's misspelled Sorceror's. Last word on page 332 is Ancestor, later changed to Descendent. This book had No dust jacket. I found another book with a Near Fine Dust Jacket that also stated First American Edition June, 1999 but did not contain the errors. I am including that Dust Jacket. Price on flap $19.95. (Book looks the same and fits). Green and blue hardcover. Spine edges bumped, front corners worn, slight spine roll. Several light soil spots back cover. Page tips creases pp. 301 - 308.

Book includes a book mark showing this book was autographed for members of The First Edition Circle at Kroch's and Brentano's in Chicago. There is an ink mark and a smudge on bottom edge (not a remainder). Book plate mainly under the flap. Signed Sincerely, Helen Hayes. Dust Jacket Near Fine. Stated First Edition with "untrimmed" leaves. Gap at top of book between spine and pages, does not appear cocked.

Book 4 in the Time to Read Series. Publisher's Salesman Sample. Stamped on front end page, "For Your Consideration from your Lippincott Representative Harvey A. Jorgenson." Bumped edges of spine, rubbed corners, some soiling to boards. Slight spine curl. Lippincott underlined in red pencil on title page. Name on title page with date, 1960 (1954 edition) and property of with same name inside cover. Two dog eared pages noticed. Glue under end papers has discolored. A chapter book with lots of color, monochrome and black and white plus one color illustrations by Gregory Orloff.

Appears unread Tight Binding, Stated First Printing. Book has a remainder mark and two coffee spots on the bottom edge - see photos.

Book Very Good - ownership stamp inside cover and twice on title page plus once on bottom of page 78. Top edge of book originally dyed but faded. Untrimmed Leaves. Dust Jacket Good Very Worn at top and bottom edgeswith tears and small pieces missing. Some green on the backside of dj. has worn off and back has a 3/8" tear. Sun fadedspine. Please see photos. Price on flap is $3.00. Hardcover book is bright. Bottom page tips at front rubbed. Top page ends at back dented. End caps dented and rubbed. Bottom corners rubbed. Slight spine curl. Binding somewhat tight, like new, creaks when shut, but owner stamped name on top and bottom exterior pages of book. Dust Jacket has scratch on the cover, some movement marks, wear at the bottom edge of the spine with two small tears, and a small tear at back corner of dj.

Wear at top & bottom edges of spine, rubbed corners. Inside VG, seam badly split but intact, spine needs to be reguled. Creased corner at half title page, front end page & tissue protecting the illustration, An Invitation From Jacket Rabbit. Tissue page is also ripped along seam at bottom. Rest of inside Near Fine. Has a personal Christmas gift inscription (not from the author) dated 1911 on the half title page.

This is NOT the Dell edition. Purple wrapper with brown figure, #6050, Hat & Pipe in Circle where Dell is inserted later. Paper is discolored from age. Bottom wrapper corner has several creases. The first chapter has a bottom corner crease beneath. Rubbed corners, chipped edges of spine, edgewear, crase along front edge of spine. Stamp on front end page Paperback Switch N' Stuff with address.

Seventy two page booklet with condition issues to the wrapper and water stains.
