"Travel explores Steinbach's recent exhibition at White Cube Mason's Yard, London and is comprised of two new series of works that trace a trajectory in the artist's practice that stretches from the 1970s to today. In 1976, Steinbach produced a series of works based on grid-like geometric patterns created with strips of linoleum flooring. The Linopanel works evoke a pivotal moment in Steinbach's career, when he abandoned his investigation into minimalist painting and began to work with found objects. Despite these faults a copy with a bright cover and internally clean and fresh. 4to. 202 pages. Frontispiece and illustrations in text by the author. Original decorated cloth, all edges gilt. FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. Gibson was a popular American writer and lecturer on natural history, and illustrated much of his own work, as here.

Original brown blind-ruled cloth, gilt-lettered on spine, the author's advertisement leaf mounted on rear pastedown. First edition. Inscribed on the front flyleaf: "H. S. Leverich, Esqr. with the compliments of J McCall?. June 21, 1881." The Leverich family (merchants in New York City) appears on the advertisement leaf as a subscribed to Riker's book 'Annals of Newtown, LI.' The inscription appears to read J McCall, possibly the publisher of McCall's Magazine. Howes R-297; Sabin 71388.

Black cloth, white lettering; printed dust jacket. Signed by Dawoud Bey on the half-title. Published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, May 2 to September 9, 2012. The work originally was exhibited at the Studio Museum in Harlem in 1979. This 2012 show was the first time that Bey's series was shown and published as a complete set. Five previously unpublished photographs from the same period are also seen here for the first time.
