Tiny mark to front endpaper. Creases to corner of the half title. Lacks the dust jacket.; Charles Baudelaire was a poet, translator, and critic in 19th century France. He was known for his "prose poetry" and dark, sometimes controversial subject matter. His works were often judged as obscene and their publication suppressed. His journals, excerpted in this book, reveal a often lost, questioning man with contempt for others and for himself.
