Romulo was a major figure in both the US and Philippine militaries, serving as an aide to Douglas MacArthur during World War II. Various places, mostly in India, 1960. Loose portfolios. Very good. Several volumes; in very good or better condition, with some general wear to covers and extremities; contents clean and bright. Titles are as follows: Introducing the Subject of Raga-Pictures / Water Colours by Kany Desai (Part Two) / [portfolio of artworks with insert in Hindi language] / [portfolio of artworks with insert in Hindi language] / [title difficult to read; by Kumar Mangalsinhji of Lathi] / Ruprekha: Eight Indian Water Colour Paintings by Kanu Desai (this last volume possibly lacking part of the cover).

1945. Very good. Group of just over 150 photographs of slightly varying sizes, but all about 4" x 5". The prints are generally in very good condition, with occasional curling and mild creasing, and evidence of many of these having been removed from an album, with some residue from paper backing or corner mounts. Just a handful of prints have short captions on the verso, i. e. "Main entrance to Fatepur Sikri, The tomb in Shundra, One corner of the Agra Fort, Yogi Temple under construction, Main gate at Taj," etc. Subjects vary widely, a nice mix of ordinary people at work, landscape scenery, and various points of interest. Almost, if not all of the images were taken by an individual; none seem to be tourist prints. Though only a few prints are dated, they all have a date between February and October 1945, thus the photographer was likely an American G. I. or someone in the diplomatic corps, involved in helping the British Empire and British India in the last months of the war effort.

1920. Flexible boards. Very good. Octavo, unpaginated (about 100pp.). A blank ruled notebook, bound in limp black cloth, measuring about 4.5" x 7" (11cm x 18cm). 64 leaves used, either in whole or in part. On each of those leaves is pasted a number of seals, labels, or blindstamps for various businesses, most of which are located in England, Scotland, or Wales. These were arranged alphabetically, with blank leaves between each letter. The seals are generally in very good condition, though the pages have some waviness, probably from the glue used to affix them. We have not endeavored to do a total count, but, averaging more than ten to a page, there are, very conservatively, at least 750 labels in this volume. There are notable concentrations in Glasgow, Paisley, Belfast, Manchester, Dundee, and a few other cities, all of which were early centers of the Industrial Revolution in the United Kingdom (in addition to a handful of continental European businesses). Philadelphia: Published by the Committee, 1849. Sewn binding. Very good +. Octavo, 100pp., illustrated with charts and graphs, two of which are inserted, as issued. A crisp, clean example, very good or better, in the original side-sewn binding and printed wrappers. Short tear to the front wrapper pencilled call number, else no evidence of any library markings. Contents clean, though the two graphs, printed on cheaper paper, are evenly age-toned. Spine somewhat chipped.

Toronto: Bantam, 1984. Later printing. Hardcover. Good +/very good. Octavo, 352pp., illustrated. A good or better copy in the publisher's brown boards with black cloth spine. Small stain to the fore-edge, spine gnetly cocked, and the page block sagging jsut a bit. In a very good dust jacket with some short tears and mild creases. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Iacocca on the half-title page: "To Jim & Martha with all best wishes, Lee Iacocca." Jim and Martha's bookplate is neatly tipped onto the front free endpaper. Uncommon signed.

In a fine dust jacket, perhaps a tinge scrunched at the base, but very bright and clean. Dust jacket is second state, with just the male character on the front panel and a very brief blurb from Colin Dexter on the rear panel. Nice signed copy of Walter's award-winning debut novel.

King has written an inscription, which reads: "For Jerry Hitt [?] (who knows about the Philtrum!) Best, Stephen King." Robertson, born in Cleveland, was a novelist who became well-known for his "Morris Bird III" novels, the first of which was titled "The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread," and later "Paradise Falls." Stephen King has stated in several interviews that Robertson is "probably" his favorite writer, and the respect and admiration he had for the writer was evident in his publication of Robertson's "The Ideal, Genuine Man" in 1987. It is known that King appeared in Cleveland at least once for a book signing alongside Robertson, as both this copy and a previous example we sold were dated 1/28/1988. A good copy at best in the publisher's red cloth. The bottom edge is untrimmed (deckled), and has some attendant waviness, but there is zero evidence of moisture. Rear inner hinge thinly cracked, some soiling/staining to boards, and the spine dulled, but the contents clean. Uncommon early printing of this important Garnett translation of one of Dostoevsky's most personal novels.
