Giusto Vaglieri's "Gialli" imprint was one of Italy's finest, offering translations of (mostly) American crime fiction with lush, full-color pin-up jacket photos of Jayne Mansfield, Lili St. Cyr, June Wilkinson, and others. The magazine sought to "celebrate the new gay awareness," and provided interviews, events listings, guides to bars and restaurants, clubs, baths, etc., and focus on travel, entertainment, fashion, news, and a forum. Little is documented on early issues, and the magazine was published into the 21st century. Contributing unique details and interesting for current dealers who specialize in products for the Gay consumer. This issue brochure unfolds from a central image of two studs in tall ferns, with a smaller order form for prospective customers. Single-weight stock, 8.5 x 11 inches, b/w, text and images, folded twice horizontally as issued. Very Good Plus, faint toning. MCA Home Video, 1995. Fine. Original Digital Laserdisc for the 1994 film, released the year after the cinematic release. Jack (O'Keefe) is an ex-con in Seattle, riding a bus with hijackers who have kidnapped the wife of Jack (Begley, Jr.), a greedy banker. Set in mountainous wilderness, non-stop action and "pulse-pounding suspense." 11.75 inches, series number 42190 and serials I4251684 and 54-483B1-03. Very Good Plus overall, light creases to the sleeve, shallow half-inch scratch to side 1, else disc appears Fine. Untested.

The newsletter sought to expose "honest and dishonest dealers" (dishonest = "gay rip-off") and provided product reviews, classified ads, monthly contests, and other information for the "Gay Consumer." Little is documented but a few are held in private collections institutionally; one of those important but lost titles contributing unique details, and interesting for current dealers who specialize in products for the Gay consumer. This issue signed by "Phil" in ink at the closing salutation, and with an order form for prospective customers. Single-weight yellow stock, 8.5 x 11 inches, text only, folded twice as issued. Pearlite Enterprises, 1950s. Very Good. Vintage nude pinup digest magazine featuring model known as "inimitable blonde," name uncredited, posing & emphasizing natural assets, in the nude w/ drapes, on couches, black high heels, great centerfold. Exotic bleach blonde w/ lush dimensions, curious appeal. Hundreds of similar digest magazines were produced by fly-by-night operations, mainly around New York, notably Burmel Publishing (Lenny Burtman's enterprise). Many were published as photography and/or art "studies" booklets, w/ technical camera data, exposure chart, & the standard emphasis on sexual liberation; early issues featured several models per issue & many maintain airbrushing techniques rolled over from nudist magazines, much of the posing naturally obscures otherwise censored areas. Vintage Italian paperback, translation of Fischer's 1954 novel "So Wicked My Love." Giusto Vaglieri's "Gialli" imprint is an Italian cornerstone, offering translations of (mostly) American crime fiction in slick, regular fashion. This series featured Irving Klaw regular Anita Ventura as mascot model, and 2pp b/w internal photos, and the hardcover Proibiti line with winking cat face mascot, tiny man in clutched fist on the rear panel, and lush, full-color pinup jacket photos of Raquel Welch, Lili St. Cyr, June Wilkinson, and others. Vintage magazine devoted to vice, true crime, scandals, featuring cover of striptease artist and pinup model, Lili St. Cyr. Lili's exotic looks brought stardom in the 1940s and 50s, this an example of coverage late in her career. After stripping (putting clothes ON was her act), she lived life sheltered but managed to stay in touch with her fans using her own stationery, operated a small lingerie company, and occasionally sat for interviews. Dick Clark, Tuesday Weld, Desi Arnaz and tramp, women's health clubs, boxing, Scottsboro crimes, vignettes (Joan Collins, Kim Novak, Lynn Shaw), May Britt, Jennie Lee 1pp/vignette.
