London: British Admiralty, 1916 (Large Corrections to 21st Nov. 1930; Small corrections from 1931 to 1938 in mss.). A large engraved chart on heavy stock, uncolored, sheet size 53.5 x 26.5 inches. Originally published 1916, this is an edition of 1930. Original vertical folds, a very good copy. This is a working chart, with numerous amendments and additions in red pen, as well as cautionary text referring to submarine cables. At lower right: "Engraved 1916", and the chart number: 454. Small typed label on verso giving the chart number & folio details. Published under the Superintendence of Captain J.F. Parry. A very large and handsome chart, with a substantial map of Kingston.

London: British Admiralty, 1885 (1934).. An engraved chart on heavy stock, uncolored, sheet size 27.5 x 40 inches. Published 1885, Large Corrections to 1901, Small corrections to 1934 (printed) and 1936 (mss.). Original horizontal fold, a nice clean copy, some additions in red. A printed paste-over comprises some of the corrections to the inset map of Ishihama and Nobiru Anchorages; another smaller paste-over corrects the area in the lower left near Shiogama. In lower right: "Engraved by Davies & Company" and "Zc 1932". Chart number is 806. Small typed label on verso giving chart & folio info. Some engraved coastlines, and inset maps of Kesennuma Bays, Ofunato Harbour, Tu Shima Peninsula Anchorages, and Ishihama and Nobiru Anchorages.

This looks to be the first Dublin edition of the Third Part [Parts 1 & 2 were published in London in 1792]. A satirical expose' of British aristocracy; due to its identifiable portraits of some members of élite society, its publisher was fined £100 and imprisoned in Newgate Prison. Many editions exist.

Vellum splitting along the front hinge of Volume 1, some old stains to the first couple of leaves of Volume 1; in general a clean and very good copy, the velllum bindings a bit sprung as usual. This book, a chronology of world history up to 1660, was first published in German, issued in eight volumes between 1629 and 1634; the first folio edition appeared in 1642. This Dutch edition of 1660 contains Illustrated title pages, full-page plates, and many fine engravings within the text. Although the decorative title pages indicate that the illustrations are by Jacob van Meurs [Met Schloone Koopere Plaaten verciert door Jacob Van Meurs], they are clearly copied from those by Merian which appeared in the original German edition.
