An original German Lobby card set consisting of sixteen 8 1/2" x 11 3/4" full color cards printed on glossy thin paper. The large impressive cast included the great Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster (Oscar nominated), Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton and Robert De Niro. Four of the cards are cast cards with small portraits of Grier, Jackson, Forster, Fonda & De NIro pictured along with critical blurbs, the rest of the set are scene cards. A terrific lobby card set for an underrated Tarantino movie. Fine.

New York: F.j. Low Company, 1950. First Printing . Digest Paper. The rare first edition of the movie tie in for "The Jackie Robinson Story." Filmed in 1950 with Robinson playing himself, the cast included a very young Ruby Dee as his wife. The film was directed by Alfred E. Green, the B movie director who had an A moment directing The Al Jolson Story, (this is ironic in itself as Jolson was noted for his black face routines), the screenplay was co-written by Mann. The film has a production design by the Oscar Winning production designer Boris Leven and an other Oscar winner Ernest Laslo did the cinematography. The digest size paperback is illustrted with scenes from the movie on the front cover, and photos of Robinson in sports action on the back cover. Nice portrait of Robinson with facsmile signature on the verso of the back cover. The front cover has an ink price of 5 cents (yeah right) and a ink date stamp, but both are not that glaring.
