Finland: Nordisk Tonefilm, 1959. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. An original and extremely rare Finnish A2 film poster for the Swedish Documentary Film "JAGANDA" from 1958. In this documentary, the explorer Rolf Blomberg travels into Brazil's jungle in search of the terrifying Xavante indians. This poster is neither a reproduction nor a re-printing. The film was screened for the first time in Finland in March 1959 and there were no further theatrical releases following its initial screening. The poster is an offset print made by Kemigrafen Oy of Finland. No artist name visible. Measures 59cm x 39cm approx and in outstanding shape with no pinholes or adhesive residue. Centre-fold line visible but in beautiful clean condition with no edge wear, tears or nicks. A superb example of vintage cinema advertising art and very scarce.

Finland: Universal Pictures, 1950. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Fine. A superb-condition cinema-used Finnish A2 poster for the 1949 film JOHNNY STOOL PIGEON, starring Howard Duff, Shelley Winters and Dan Duryea. The film was first screened in Finnish cinemas in 1950 with no subsequent theatrical runs. This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. It is in really excellent shape, Fine condition. There is a fold line near the top - slanted and visible only from the verso but none to the middle. At the top line of the titles in the letter "a" you can see a mounting hole and there is an enclosed tear surrounding the hole but this is almost invisible - I guess the poster was snatched from it's mounting without any ceremony. No further pinholes. At the bottom edge there is a very short tear and a smaller nick. Otherwise no edge wear apart from some minor handling creasing. Finland: Kosmos-Filmi Oy, 1934. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A fascinating Finnish A2 "small" one-sheet, cinema poster for the classic Soviet-era comedy-musical Jolly Fellows, aka "Moscow Laughs" and "Jazz Comedy" directed by Grigori Aleksandrov. The film was made in 1934 and was hugely successful. It's director Aleksandrov, Sergei Eisenstein's long-time co-director, won numerous accolades and attracted the attention and praise of Graham Greene amongst other notable critics. The film was first screened in Finland in 1934 by Kosmos-Filmi Oy, a distributor and importer of Soviet films. No subsequent releases or even screenings are recorded. However, Kosmos-Filmi requested a new inspection from the Finnish Film Classification board in 1958. It measures just under 16" by 24" approx. In excellent, clean condition, a rolled poster without folding creases. No nicks or tears to edges. No pinholes, paste residue or clamping marks, an unused example. The verso is also unmarked. C9/10 - No discernible faults or signs of use.
