St. Petersburg, FL: The Florida Holocaust Museum, (2009). Signed and dated by the artist on the title page. A book of 23 memorial wood carvings of French children who were killed at Auschwitz during the Holocaust. Photographs of the children and Herbert Savel's carvings are shown side-by-side on facing pages. The last set of images in the book depict Savel's own cousin. (His inspiration for the carvings was French Children of the Holocaust, a book by Nazi hunter Serge Klarsfeld.) Large paperbound format. 11 x 8.5 inches. 61 pp., on glossy paper. Introduction by the artist (pp. 9-15) followed by the captioned illustrations. VG condition. Sound, tight binding. Clean internally.
