Printed in Bulak (Matba'at sahib al Futuhat al Bahira) 1244 by the director of the printing house, (Nicola) Masabki, the first or the second director after RAPHAEL ANTOINE ZAKHOUR (DON RAPHAEL). Masabki was born in Aleppo and sent (in the first mission) to Italy by Muhammad Ali Pasha in c. 1815 to learn the printing methods, and directed the printing house in 1821 until his death in 1831. Arabic text, 192 p translated by Abd Allah Abu al Soud Effendi, according to the khedivial order of Ismail b. Ibrahim b. Muhammad Ali Pasha, the vice roy of Egypt. A French archaeologist and Egyptologist, Mariette-Bey was sent to Egypt by the Louvre in 1850 to obtain Coptic manuscripts for the museum's collections. Failing in this task, he instead led excavations at Saqqara, Giza, and Thebes and rediscovered the Serapeum. Cairo: al Mu'ayyad, 1900 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Arabic text, 2 volumes (all published), (8), 403, 364 p. Author's diaries during his military service in Sudan and in his prison for 14 years there. The author is an Egyptian leader and historian was born in Cairo where he was graduated from the military school during the dynasty of Ismail Pasha, the vice roy of Egypt. According to the order of Gordon Pasha, he led the army to the equatorial territories in Sudan, then employed as a director of Bahr al Ghazal, then a director of the new equatorial territories in 1877. He returned back to Cairo and took place in the revolt of Ahmad Orabi Pasha. He was called by Gordon Pasha to fight against the Darawish who catched him after they captured the Khartoum in 1885 and spent 14 years in his prison untill he rescued by the Egyptian army in 1898..
