Boston: Little, Brown & Company, 1983. First Edition. One of 32 specially bound and cased copies reserved for the artist; signed by Karsh, and including an original signed print of Pablo Casals). This copy is from the library of Carl Zahn, who was responsible for all aspects of the book’s production and design. Zahn produced the catalogue for Karsh’s first US exhibition, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1968, and so impressed Karsh that he insisted that Zahn design a number of his future projects. Laid into this copy are two letters to Zahn on Karsh’s letterhead: A single page typed letter, signed, from Karsh’s wife Estrellita, dated March 22, 1974, discusses the “fabulous KARSH Boston Museum Catalogue,” requesting more copies for themselves and the director of a gallery mounting another Karsh exhibition.
