[Paris] 1750. A hand colored map, nicely etched, double- folded sheet, 26.75 x 20.5 inches, very good, clean, with elaborate cartouche at the middle top. This is illustrated Campbell as plate 24 and discussed as #65. Beautifully eng- raved, on a single sheet, folio size, center folded, without any trimming at all. A grand water mark is visible, on this beautiful laid paper. Japan is depicted with all cities and villages, rivers, mountains and islands. The distance key is located in the lower right corner, Yesso or Hokkaido is sho- shown with only a few cities listed. At the upper left is the Korean map, with many cities, rivers & mountains listed, from 34 to about 43 degrees North. Suitable for framing.RARE .
