Internally, text block edges sprinkled blue, ink note to fep, title page with woodcut, [2], 3-104 pp, 1-391 pp, small marginal repaired tear to title page, remains of small paper label to verso of tp, 2 parts [in 1], the text forms the first part: with separate pagination to the defence. Fontanini's text with commentary was first published in 1700. A nice copy.

Bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe in quarter brown goatskin, gold rule, with beige cloth boards, titles in gold on the spine, no inscriptions, (viii), 73 pp, 285*190 mm, an edition limited to just 220 copies, however per a loose note from Gregynog it was reduced by 25 copies as there were "certain production difficulties" (problems with mould), it was actually produced at the University of Wales Press, as Gwasg Gregynog had yet to be incorporated, but the Gregynog name was on the title page. Produced by Michael Hutchins over a period of 18 months, who also drew the Capitals for initials, press device by Keith Holmes, this volume was not illustrated per the poet's wishes. Some light spotting to 2 pages (as normal). A lovely copy of an uncommon and desirable Gregynog title. (Esslemont Hughes No 1)

He later researched the prehistory of Scandinavia.
