The Una Bishop designed dust wrapper has a small tear to the bottom of the spine otherwise it is quite a crisp example and hasn't been price clipped. There are a few light marks to the lower panel. The book is excellent with very little handling wear. Light handling wear to the dust wrapper edges. The book has mild compression to the corners. The upper text block edge has moderate foxing marks. First edition. Signed by the illustrator Peter Firmin underneath the frontispiece illustration and dated by him in the year of publication. In the corner of the same page he has inscribed "For oliver with love Peter". More likely, due to the warm inscription, it is to his long time bagpuss, noggin and clangers collaborator Oliver Postgate. Peter Firmin was commissioned with the task of illustrating Vita Sackville West's poetry from her titles The Land and The Garden. The book is profusely packed with his illustrations. The wrapper has the odd mark to the front and back panel but overall is clean and with only light wear tp the spine ends. The jacket has the publisher's sticker applied to the front flap. The black publishers boards, lettered in silver to spine are slightly pushed to the spine ends. The final page inside is lightly offset. This copy is boldly inscribed to the title page "To Brice Ritchie, Best Wishes, Harold Pinter", with the ownership plate of the dedicatee to the front paste-down.  A one-act play on the theme of marriage, first broadcast on radio in 1968 and first performed on stage in 1969.  . Faber & Faber. First edition published by Faber and Faber in 1932. A very good or better copy. The fragile wrapper has been price clipped, otherwise it is all there. The spine has browned and there is some wear to the spine ends. There is a tear to the bottom of the lower flap and this has been repaired on the reverse by archival tape. The green boards are in nice shape and the book is square. The purple top stain is visible and has not faded. There is light and sporadic foxing to the side text block. There is no writing inside and no bookplates.  The Last Medici is the first of three biographies Harold Acton wrote about historical Italian families: the Medicis and the Bourbons.  Acton in this first volume discusses the Medici grand dukes and in particular their final undoing.   . Jonathan Cape. First edition published by Jonathan Cape in 1928. This is a near fine copy. The plain brown dust wrapper is in excellent condition with no loss, chips or tears. It is not price clipped displaying 6s. net on the inside flap. There is a piece of archival tape to the reverse of the jacket. The green cloth boards are in great shape with no marks or fading. One of the corners is gently pushed. The front free and back free end papers have browning patches otherwise the pages are clean and without marks. The author's brother compiled a score of papers that Thomas wrote in the preceeding two or three years to his death at Arras in 1917 during the great war. He contributed essays to journals and they have been put together including about Christina Rossetti, Insomnia and Goodwood races. Longmans, Green & Co. First UK edition published by Longmans, Green and Co in 1900. This is a very good copy. The boards have light marks. There is a scratch about 3 inches long on the back board. There are three pin holes on the spine. The spine has cracked on the inside board however the book is well bound. There is a previous owners name on the front free end paper. There is the odd foxing mark throughout the book with moderate foxing to the first couple of pages. Overall a very good copy and complete with all fold out maps.  A very good copy of this first edition. This is Churchill's account of his time served in the second Boer war including his capture and unlikely escape from a prison camp.
