This is an edition of the LEFAX Handbook of Mathematics Tables. Beveled leather over board covers are in excellent condition with some wear on the inside of the covers. Loose leaf binder with light cardboard tabbed dividers. Owner name inscribed at top of first title page. Sections of the handbook include: "mathematical reviews; Squares, Cubes, Square Roots, etc; Logarithms of Numbers; Log. Trig. Functions; Natural Trig. Function; Hyperbolic Functions." No publication date is provided. We believe it is likely to be 1948 based on the 1948 and 1949 calendars at the beginning of the handbook. There is toning and some soiling on the first and last pages. However, all the tables and other pages are in pristine condition.

Though not stated, we assume this is a first edition as we have found other copies but not any earlier ones. Considerable wear to the original cover, including including fading, chipping and small tears at edges and spine. Spine is wear but no splits detected. Pages are in better condition. They are whole - none are missing, no tears, relatively little spotting or foxing. Except for the steel engravings scattered throughout the book. These are heavily foxed. Pages are clean and easy to read. Print is a bit larger than normal size. The first dozen pages or so are stained around the bottom front edge of the page. Writing on the first fly-leaf page Book draws primarily from the journal of Robert H. Kellogg, describing his life in a Confederate prison, as well as from other accounts by other prisoners in other Confederate prisons.

A rare true first edition but not in great shape. Illustrated cover boards are in relatively good condition with only some chipping and fraying along spine; however, the first three double side pages have large tears that have been neatly taped. Spine is weak but holding. Remainder of book and illustrations are in good shape. Illustrations are still clear with vibrant colors. The inside cover includes a space for the owner's name, which has been blacked out. Pages are not numbered. No dj.

There is no table of contents. Includes various tables, charts, illustrations, and index.Book is in very good condition. Does have some shelf war and soling and spotting, particularly on the front cover. Front inside seam has a slight crack. There is a presentation slip of pager on the first flyleaf "With the compliments of J. M. Allen (signed), President." We do not think the signature is by hand. All pages, illustrations, etc. are clear, without tears or marks.

Limited and numbered first edition by the Guilde du Livre. This book is no. 5282 out of 8,000 printed. The book is in 'like new' condition except for a deeper orange-red stain at the top edge of the front and back covers. These are visible upon close examination. The text is entirely in French. The translator (from the Japanese) was G. Renondeau.

Limited First edition. No 970 of 1,500 copies printed. Text is entirely in French. 69 pages of text and 32 pages of photos of Congolese sculptures with descriptions. A rare book on Congolese art from colonial Belgium. It is ex. library. However, there are no references to its library origins on the textual and photograph pages. There are several "WITHDRAWN FROM THE LIBRARY" message stamped on the front endpapers and back cover. Also an inventory sticker on the front cover and a library card pocket pasted on the last endpaper. There is shelf wear, particularly along spine, and a good bit of age toning on covers and all pages, except those with photos. The photo pages (all b&w) are glossy and in excellent condition. Other than the age toning, the textual pages are clear and without tears or marks.

Only faults we could find in book are some shelf wear/white spotting at bottom edge of the back cover, a small (about 1/8") stain at top of spine extending about one inch from the spine at the top of the pages; however, the stain is only visible on the top edges of the pages when the book is closed. It does not show on the pages themselves. The Dj is whole but shows its age with some light stains and wear marks on front cover and shelf wear at edges including some small tears and chipping at bottom of spine are.
