Description:
Oxford: The Clarendon Press (2008), 2008. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/very near Fine. 8vo. [13], 4-228, [2] pp. Dark blue cloth with gold lettering on the spine. This book continues Fodor's work on developing a representational theory of mind which began in The Language of Thought in 1975. One of Fodor's primary goals in this book is to address what he views as a key shortcoming in the earlier book: a failure to recognize the critical importance of compositionality and the constraints it imposes on theories of the semantics of mental representations. A very attractive copy of Fodor's final solely-authored book.
