William Heinemann. First trade edition published by William Heinemann in 1912. The play made its debut on the stage in 1903. Maugham got 150 copies of his play printed in 1903 to give it out on opening night and as working copies for the actors. This first trade edition appeared in 1912 in wraps and this hardback edition. This copy is in very good condition. The boards have a couple of bumps along the right hand side edge of the front board. The spine is faded. There is a light mark to the front board. Otherwise the boards and pages are clean and there are no other marks, bookplates, foxing or ink. It is at least a very good copy overall. The author, W. Somerset Maugham has inscribed to the front free end paper "For Robert Loraine, from his friend the author". There is a tiny tear to the top of the spine and a small mark to the right side of the front panel. The book is very clean with no previous owners inscriptions and only a smattering of foxing marks to the upper text block. Overall this is a near fine copy. William Heinemann. London: William Heinemann (1935). First UK edition of this classic anti-war novel with the striking dust wrapper. It is in very good condition. The wrapper is mostly complete. There is wear to the corners and spine ends. There is a tear to the bottom of the spine that goes through the Heinemann logo although it is firmly attached and presents well in brodart. The book itself is very clean, sturdy and square with no foxing or other marks. Overall a very good copy. The author worked as an official war correspondent during the war. He wrote many novels of note during the 20's and 30's but became preoccupied with his hatred of war and violence. Faber and Faber. First edition published by Faber and Faber in 1961. This is a very good copy. The George Adamson illustrated jacket is not price clipped displaying 10s 6d net. There is some light wear to the spine ends and the bottom edge of the back panel is creased. The illustrated boards have one pushed corner and gentle pushing to the top spine. The boards are a tad bowed. Overall a very good copy and rare as Ted Hughes has signed his name without dedication to the front free end paper.  Ted Hughes third published works and first children's book. Macmillan. First UK edition published by Macmillan in 1959. This is a very good or better copy. The jacket is toned in places and lightly rubbed to the corner and spine ends. A previous seller has struck the price out and instead written 5/-. The Book has one neat previous owners name to the corner of the front free end paper and a small booksellers sticker to the inside board. Overall a very good or better copy and much better than is usually found. Rare in this condition and with the fantastic Reingnum jacket. Spark's 4th title.  . Very Good. Methuen. First UK edition published by Methuen in 1948. This is a very good copy. The jacket has several tape repairs to the reverse of the jacket mainly to the spine and corners. There is a closed and repaired tear across the front panel of the wrapper. There are also several marks to the front and back panel. The fragile jacket is fairly complete and hasn't been price clipped. The book has a mark to the bottom of the front board. It has mild and sporadic foxing to the side text block and to the first couple of pages. Overall in reasonable shape. A very good copy. In the original pictorial wrapper that hasn't been price clipped. There is light rubbing to the spine ends.  Winner of the Booker Prize in 2018, the setting is based in Belgast during the troubles, as the protagonist navigates through a turbulent period, as told through obscure information and a lack of names.  . The wrapper has not been price clipped and has the original price of 9/- Net. The jacket has browning and wear. There are a few rips to the edges and corners of the wrapper. The text block has foxing and light browning. There are some small light marks on the text block. There is no previous owners ink. There are no tears to the pages. Overall, this copy is in a very good++ condition.  Baker's Miss Hargreaves (1940) was his most successful novel. It is a comic fantasy in which a fictional character comes to life. He later adapted it as a stage play, which was produced in London at the Royal Court Theatre Club with Dame Margaret Rutherford in the starring role. . Very Good. Collins. Published by Collins in 1970. This is the first UK edition and first print. It is in very good or better condition. The complete wrapper has no tears or chips and no loss at all. There is some rubbing along the edges and spine ends and the laminate has started to peel along the top edge. The book is in very clean and bright condition, as are the pages. There are no previous owner's marks or ink. The jacket has been price clipped. Overall a very good or better copy.  This is the first book, where it all began for the wonderful Mog. This is the familiar tale of how poor old Mog gets under everyones feet and is a general annoyance, until she bravely scares off a burglar mid schenanigins and gets the adulation she richly deserves complete with a lovely medal! Benn. First UK edition published by Benn in 1966. This is a very good copy. The jacket has foxing marks to the front panel  and minor wear to the corners and spine ends but is very complete and hasn't been price clipped. The book is also very good with very little wear at all. There is the odd faint browning mark. Overall a very good copy. The 9th Moomins book in the series. The book is excellent with the bright mustard top stain. No foxing or previous owner's ink. It is a very near fine copy.  The novel takes the form of the fictional memoirs of Howard W. Campbell Jr., an American, who moved to Germany in 1923 at age 11, and later became a known playwright and Nazi propagandist.
