Original black cloth wid red-coloured inlay and titles at upper cover and backstrip. pp. 154 with short publisher catalogue at the rear. Illustrated with occasional line drawings. Covers worn at the corners and spine tips, titles a bit faded, off-setting to the endpapers. Free from owner names, library markings etc, in pretty Good condition overall.

London: Quartet, 1989. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. First UK printing. Uncommon English translation of this novel by the late Swedish author. The upper corners have taken a knock and are bumped but otherwise a nice copy - tight and square. The dustjacket is unclipped and in bright clean condition with corresponding bumps at the upper corners. SIGNED by Per Olov Enquist at the title page - rare thus.

Slightly dustmarked at the top edge but otherwise Fine - a straight, tight copy which appears unread. The unclipped dustjacket has lost a bit of its colour at the spine else Fine.

Madrid: Aqui Esta, 1947. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Good. On the death of the legendary Spanish bullfighter, Manolete, the Spanish magazine Aqui Esta published a memorial booklet/brochure upon the cover of which this print was tipped on. It is a popular image and the print would have been removed by many people at the time and framed. This example is unframed, measuring 17 x 25 cm approx. In Good condition, the image is clear. The margins are slightly soiled or marked and there are some minor marks and a touch of sunning here and there to the image as well. No nicks or tears to the edges. Some damage to the surface of the verso where the print has been pulled of at the top edge and the original glue or paste is still visible. For best appreciation of condition please examine the accompanying high-resolution image. Now a scarce item of Manolete memorabilia.

No Binding. Very Good. An original Spanish press photograph of the Spanish bullfighter Manolete, it would seem executing his most famous pass, the "manoletina". 6.5" x 4.25", gloss finish, with stamps to the verso. Minor tanning and wear commensurate with age but VG condition.

Finland: Warner Bros, 1958. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A really lovely Finnish A2 one-sheet, cinema poster for the 1959 movie, MARJORIE MORNINGSTAR starring Gene Kelly & Natalie Wood. The film was first screened in cinemas in Finland in 1959 with no subsequent theatrical screenings. This poster is not a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related The "small" standard vintage Finnish film poster is the most common and collected version and approximates in size to the German or Hungarian A2. Sizes do vary slightly depending on the studio or printers involved and the era. Stylistically, vintage Finnish movie posters rarely reproduce the same art-work from the original studios' publicity material. Older films were usually re-named in Finnish (and Swedish below) but nearly always referenced the original title of the movie somewhere in the presentation. Printed by the legendary Finnish printers Piirtopaino Oy. Artist signed in the plate (initials). Condition: C8, Fine/Very Fine. A rolled poster with no folding crease. No obvious signs of mounting although there is a pinch & crease near top left corner. Super graphics, bright & vivid, a really lovely poster for a great film and original, authentic movie memorabilia

The protected dustjacket is unclipped and suffers from a minor stain (cloth-bleed) to the inside at the tail of the spine - not noticeable from the outside.

A substantial heavy book which is prone to losing its shape but this is a Fine, tight unread copy in Fine dustjacket. SIGNED (for the seller in person) by Mikhail Gorbachev at the title page. The signing took place at what was then Waterstones' branch located in Harrods Department Store in Knightsbridge, London. As you can imagine there was a very, very long queue and I was fortunate enough to be very near the front of that queue because after only 15 or 20 minutes of signings his security people interrupted the line a few places behind me and told the remaining hundreds of customers to get lost. I would estimate that maybe only 50 or 60 of us got our books signed that day - his only scheduled signing that I know of in the UK at that time.
