Unique hand drawn PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN Map of the Country from Austin to El Paso, (1851) Sketch and Observations Taken by F. B. E. Browne; map image size 14.5 x 8.5 inches. The map was furnished to Professor Walter P. Webb by E. N. Noyes of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Noyes had only a photostat. The map is dated September 23, 1851. The article in the quarterly presents several theories on how the map came to be made by Browne. It includes the route of an Indian Trail from Arkansas to Chihuahua. (There is minor loss at folds).
