The pictures were taken by several photographers, some under the guise of tourists and others without official consent. This gives rise to a sometimes disturbing book, but also shows the resilience of the people pictured. Contents include street views, propaganda, agriculture, the military, transport, work, architecture, etc. In excellent condition with dust jacket in very good condition, some edge wear to the jacket including a small tear.
