London: J.S. Barr, 1793. An appealing late eighteenth century encyclopedia of nature with short chapters on a number of species of interest including the Dodo, Emu and Cassowary. The plates are small and detailed yet remarkably accurate for a popular publication of this age and nature. Five volumes, small octavo, contemporary red quarter calf; boards scuffed, head and tail bands show some wear, internally near-fine, a handsome and attractive set.
