A set of eight lobby cards from the film 'The Oblong Box' directed by Gordon Hessler, and starring Christopher Lee and Vincent Price. Black and white lithographic images on heavy stock measuring 28 x 36cm, with production credits to right and lower quadrants. A small piece of masking tape to the verso of one card. Light handling. Near fine. The first horror film to feature the classic paring of Christopher Lee and Vincent Price. Note on Format: the Lobby Card is a small poster or titled still printed on card stock, usually 8 x 10 inches (UK and Europe) or 11 x 14 inches (US) in a landscape view. Generally produced in sets of eight in colour for Britain and America, intended for display in a cinema foyer or lobby.

With three plates depicting snow flakes, a photographic plate of hailstones, two other in-text illustrations, and a frontispiece engraving of the author's house. Contemporary half vellum by BARBER of Lewes, with gilt titles to red labels on spine, and marbled paper over boards. Spotting to endpapers and blanks; otherwise a crisp, clean copy. Wear to extremities, with some spotting to vellum. Very good. A highly detailed month-by-month description of the climate during the author's residence at the Grange at the summit of the Beacon (Crowborough Hill), from 1874 to 1884, including many tables showing highest and lowest temperatures, first printed in 1885.

Publisher's grey cloth with maroon titles to spine and upper. With the illustrated dust-jacket, priced at 5s. Cloth spine slightly toned. Light rubbing to jacket edges, with a few small closed tears. Near fine. A genuinely useful little reference work, including a visual index to windows, doorways, ceilings etc.

London: Hamish Hamilton, 1968. [Children's Literature] FIRST UK EDITION. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.160. Publisher's teal cloth lettered in gilt to spine. With the illustrated dust-jacket designed by Faith Jaques, with printed price of 16s to front flap. Some toning and spotting to edges of textblock, rolling to spine, wearing to edges of dust-jacket, damp staining can be seen on the inside of the dust-jacket. Very good. Andre Norton was widely known for her fantasy books for young people. The novel tells the story of Lorrie's first visit to Octagon House where in every room she finds an exact dollhouse replica of the house itself. The blurb says that 'this is an enchanting story, superbly told' and the fantasy of time shifting is an intriguing plot point that remains 'completely convincing' to the reader.

With 10 black and white illustrated plates, including a large folding frontispiece impression of the Abbey at its peak. INSCRIBED by the author in black ink to half-title: 'E. Board Esq. | with the author's compliments.' Publisher's grey cloth with blue titles to spine and upper, and the crest of the Abbot stamped in colour to upper. Printed on fine handmade paper, all edges untrimmed. A water stain to top edge, visible internally to plates only. Spine toned, with heavy water staining to boards and some light general wear. Very good. A general history of Reading Abbey, celebrating eight hundred years since its foundation in the reign of Henry I Beauclerc.

A particularly scarce late issue with the repriced jacket, retailing at £4.95 (sold circa 1980). The vast majority of Octopussys were sold in the late 60s to early 70s priced at 10/6, 16 shillings or 80 pence. Publisher's Oxford blue hardcovers stamped in gilt, decorated with the author's initials in gilt to cover, plain black endpapers. Absolutely fine/as new. One of a selection of titles by Ian Fleming, uniformly cased in harlequin colours, comprising sheets from the Ian Fleming Centenary Edition in an elegant new hardback binding for 2022. The final Bond book collects the novellas Octopussy and The Living Daylights.

The comic-strip adaptation of the original James Bond story first appeared in the Daily Express from November 1966-May 1967. This volume also includes the next Bond strip in the series, The Hildebrand Rarity (Express newspapers, May-December 1967).
