Printed program for Friday, July 13, 1934, featuring two 1931 comedies: "La Prison en Folie" and "Mam'zelle Nitouche." Fine in a very lightly spine-sunned dust jacket with a long tear to the rear hinge, rear flap present but detached, and a few other smaller chips and tears, still quite presentable.. 8vo, 120pp; blue cloth with printed spine label. An early Cowley publication, indeed his first in the U.S., preceded by the Paris publication of his "Racine". Although no physical evidence or marking supports the assertion, a laid-in slip identifies this copy of the book as having come from the library of the fantasy writer and Arkham House publisher Donald Wandrei.

Description:
New York: Albert & Charles Boni, 1924. First edition. A tiny tear to the cloth at the top of the spine from being roughly removed from a shelf at one time, otherwise in a lightly toned dust jacket with moderate wear to the extremities and some small chips, the largest being the size of a fingernail at the top of the spine.. 8vo, 293pp; green cloth stamped in gilt. Eighteen literary essays, including an early U.S. review in praise of Joyce's Ulysses, by the author of the 1927 A Key to the Ulysses of James Joyce, one of the first book length studies of the novel. The intact dust jacket has the price of $2.00. A bit of bibliographic rabbit-holery: the title page is a cancel; facing the title page, the list of books "By the Same Author" comprises his previous book, the novel Cables of Cobweb, and notes the title of his second novel, Nomad as "(in preparation)." When that novel appeared in 1925, however, it was under the imprint of Minton, Balch rather than the Boni brothers.
