Description:
Fulham, England: Sand's End Pottery, (circa 1890). A rare and particularly handsome William De Morgan tile. Measuring 6" x 6", this tile has exceptional coloration and classic de Morgan aesthetic details divided into quadrants, with ornamental motifs of purple stylized flowers and lovely green foliage. (Please request scan) The design reflects the artist's commitment to the work of A.W.N. Pugin and Owen Jones. The bottom edge has some chipping with approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch loss. Upper left corner lightly chipped. Minimal expected and actually quite attractive crazing. A very satisfying example of a British art tile from an esteemed leaders of the Arts and Crafts movement in England.

Description:
Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, (1907). First edition Bound in blue cloth with beautiful color pictorial pastedown on the front cover. Small quarto, unpaginated. Twelve glorious full page illustrations and ornamental borders in the Art Nouveau style. This book, along with Fanny Cory's Mother Goose, represent a particularly poignant time in the author's family life and both are considered amongst her best work. After losing her first baby in childbirth and suffering other deep personal losses Fanny entered a period of profound grief. She struggled to regain her natural sense of joy, eventually giving birth to three children and creating illustrations that captured her hard won happiness in domestic life. This book is not only an exceptional work of art but a mirror into the artist's home and heart, written and illustrated from her own intimate personal experiences as a mother . It has become a very elusive and sought after title for collectors of finely illustrated books from the…

Description:
London: Gresham, (1910). Cream cloth octavo, 50 color plates, after paintings by E. W. Haslehurst, 63 pp. of text. This series provides an affectionate glimpse into the scenes and places that keep Britain close to the hearts of anyone that has been there, either in fact or hopeful intent. The decorative binding, although not attributed to Talwin Morris, was at least strongly influenced by him. The central ornamental device on the front cover consists of a shield with a stylized coral Tudor rose and sharply geometric dark green foliage. The rose is repeated on the spine. The endleaves again give testament to the influence of Talwin Morris and C. R. Mackintosh with Glasgow roses, arrow- shaped leaves, recatangles and linear borders. The lower cover has some soil and light wear. A very nice copy of a striking book.
