Description:
Oxford University Press, 1982.. FIRST EDITION 1982, 4to, 305 x 240 mm, 12 x 9½ inches, colour illustrated shiny boards, (32) pages. Endpapers reinforced at centrefold with white tape, stitched into binding as issued (see image 5), possibly intended for library use, no library signs at all. Wonderful coloured illustration throughout with interleaved half-pages to advance the action on the same scene. The unlikely story of a pelican which becomes a sort of farm pet and has to be taught to fish. A touch of wear to head of spine and a very slight bump, tiny pale mark at tail of spine (see image), tiny rub to lower corner of upper cover, tiniest bump to top corner of lower cover, 1 tiny shallow dent to lower cover, no inscriptions, contents clean and bright.
