[Detroit Photographic Company / Detroit Publishing Company, c.1900]. . This is a Polychrom print of a famous medieval building in the Altstadt of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, published by the Detroit Publishing Co. c.1900. It is numbered 17233. Size is about 22cm x 17cm. The number and title are printed on the front at the lower left. Verso is blank. In fine condition. This publisher acquired the exclusive ownership and rights to the Photochrom process in America; Photochrom (Fotochrom, Photochrome or the Aäc process) is a process for producing colorized images from black-and-white photographic negatives via the direct photographic transfer of a negative onto lithographic printing plates. The process is a photographic variant of chromolithography.

Published 1852, Large Corrections to 1889, Small corrections to 1927 (printed) and 1934 (mss.). Unfolded. A very good copy, some additions in red and routes marked in pencil. A printed paste-over comprises some of the central corrections. In lower right: "J & C. Walker, Sculpt.". Chart number is 2105. Small typed label on verso giving chart & folio info. Inset maps of Kumi, Port Broughton, Sakisima Islands, and the Miyako Jima Group. [Wiki]: Miyako Island is the largest and the most populous island among the Miyako Islands of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Miyako Island is administered as part of the City of Miyakojima, which includes not only Miyako Island, but also five other populated islands.

Boston: Christopher, (1939).. Blue cloth designed and lettered in gilt. Some shelf wear, a very good copy. It looks as though a (blank?) page has been excised following the title page. Short forward by R.B. Stotts, of the Wigwam Council Boy Scouts.This book chronicles the adventures of some gangs of boys, and includes an encounter with a camp of Campfire Girls. Uncommon.

Image size is 18cm x 13.5cm, on a sheet measuring 23cm x 18cm (9 x 7 inches). Cartouche at upper right. Text on map is in Latin. Text on verso is German. Page number on verso is 442. Clean, short tear in lower margin, very good condition. A regional map of Germany, Bavaria.

Boston: Ticknor, Reed, and Fields, 1853. First edition.. Two volumes. Brown cloth stamped in blind, spines lettered in gilt. Shallow chipping to spine ends, a couple of worn spots on the front hinge of Volume I; a clean very good set otherwise. Palissy was a French Huguenot potter and engineer.

c.1823.. A coloured lithograph on paper, matted and framed. The image measures about 14 x 8 inches, in a frame with glass measuring 16 x 10 inches. Very good condition. At the lower right is an "HC" monogram and the date 1823. An early view of Charing Cross By Harriet Capel, later Harriet Ford.

Chipped at spine ends and tips, inner rear hinge partly split, some maps have tears at folds; a very good copy. Ownership signature of Marcus Baker on title page. This is Volume 5 of a 6-Volume set published 1872-73. This volume deals with the water boundary between the USA and Canada, relating to the San Juan Islands Dispute, and the adoption of Haro Strait as the boundary (as opposed to Rosario Strait, the British choice, which would have placed the San Juan Islands within Canada). Many maps of the Georgia Strait, Haro Strait, and surrounding areas of British Columbia. Uncommon.

anticat16. 1902. A 42-page booklet, stapled, in pale green printed wrappers. One folding plate on blue paper, printed in black & red. Ownership signature on the front wrapper, light edge wear, about fine. This booklet prints the deed, mortgage, etc. for the construction of a grain elevator in Portland, Maine. It contains the details of a contract between the Atlantic & St. Lawrence Railroad Company, the New England Elevator Company, and The Grand Trunk Railway Company Of Canada. The folding plate is a map showing the intended site of the elevator, by the GTR Passenger Station on India Street in Portland, Maine.

Orinda: Press of the Golden Key, 1979. Olive wrappers designed and lettered in green. A tipped-in piece of papyrus, from the Papyrus Institute, Cairo, serves as a frontispiece. Limited to 150 copies, 100 of which were for presentation to members of the Roxburghe Club, San Francisco. Signed by Olmsted on the title page. One little wrinkle to front wrapper, a stain to the upper edge which extends down the center pages (a spill on the booklet while opened? not very noticeable); fine otherwise.

Nürnberg: Homann, c.1720. Size of printed area: 47 X 56 cm. Copper engraving, hand-colored in outline & wash when published. Some short tears in margins, slight yellowing and slight splitting at centre fold, but otherwise in nice condition. A map of the Taunus and Nassau region north of Frankfurt between rivers Main, Rhein and Lahn, confined by the cities of Koblenz, Giessen, Frankfurt and Mainz. Decorative cartouche with cherubs and two coats of arms, and two inset views of Bad Schwalbach.
