Good+ conditon. The covers are somewhat grimy with a small red stain on the cover. There is an inked inscription to ffep, and small pencilled library notations on endpapers. Decorative bookplate to front pastedown. Small closed tear to tissue protecting frontis. Some minor paper damage (stuck pages) affecting margins of 15 or so pages. Faint age spots to pastedowns and facing endpapers. The pages are otherwise clean and unfoxed. The binding is square and tight. History of the Merchants and Miners Transporation Company, prominent Atlantic Coast shipping company, homeported in Baltimore. Provided services between Boston and Miami. Unique to this line, it was the only major coastal line that did not serve the port of New York on a regular basis. Founded in 1861 it continued to 1952 when various circumstances including expanded competition from rail, truck, and aviation forced it to close down. Cover shows small signs of shelf wear; mild foxing on title page; otherwise a tight, clean copy.

The end-pages have darkened with age but otherwise, aside from a couple of penciled notations and a number penned to the bottom of the contents page,  the pages are clean and bright. No foxing. Binding is tight and hinges intact. Boards lightly shelf-worn and rubbed at edges.  Overall, a very good copy.

The binding is tight and hinges intact.

The lower half of the last 4 pages of ads have been removed. The binding is tight with front hinge starting and rear intact.
