Daphne Du MaurierRebecca 'a new novel' Victor Gollancz, London 1938 Hardcover. 28th imp Apr 1942.A lovely wartime copy of the iconic and famous novel by Du Maurier, a worn copy with a facsimile replacement yellow jacket copied from the original. Smaller copy on rougher paper that looks like it was produced economically during wartime rationing. This would still make somebody a wonderful gift.
Condition: Good. Cloth boards are rubbed edge worn, inside hinges are sound. Clean internally apart from a name and date neatly written on the front free endpaper.
About: Rebecca is a 1938 Gothic novel written by English author Daphne du Maurier. The novel depicts an unnamed young woman who impetuously marries a wealthy widower, before discovering that both he and his household are haunted by the memory of his late first wife, the title character.
