Interior of book is clean, no former owner's names or marks. Half title page has very light brown area where a newspaper clipping may have been in the past. Reading the book and studying the illustrations does make one think of Pope Francis. An attractive, large folio copy of a scarce book.

Most of the interior pages are in very good shape with many illustrated ads, business directories by towns, lists of planters and farmers, railroads and government officials. In some regards not in the best shape, but mainly a solid, original copy of a rare state gazetteer.
