This copy is the same deep blue tone across all of the jacket. There is tiny amounts of wear to the corner tips. The book is in excellent condition with only a very small handful of tiny flecks to the text block. The copyright page shows a full number line down to 1 as called for, for a first edition. The author Salman Rushdie has signed his name without dedication to the title page. Nicholas Kaye. First edition published by Nicholas Kaye in 1962. This is a near fine copy. The jacket is crisp and with very little wear at all. There are some handling marks to the back panel otherwise it is excellent and hasn't been price clipped. The book is also in similar condition with only faint foxing marks to the upper text block and handling wear to the first couple of pages. This copy has been signed by BB without dedication to the title page. Overall a collectible near fine copy and rare to find signed.  BB takes a long trip around the remote Scottish Highlands. The spine is lettered in gilt along with a gilt motif. The front board is lettered in black. A first issue copy. The pages have scattered foxing in places and the front and last end papers have lighter square patches where perhaps a wrapper or insert had sat. All illustrations are present.  1500 copies of the author's first travel book were printed but around 900 were pulped, making copies in decent condition quite rare. Douglas documents his journey through southern Italy. He discusses mythology, folklore, ghosts and patron saints along with a history of the region and detailing of the landscape.  . Very Good. Hodder & Stoughton. First edition published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1951. A very good copy. The striking Leslie Wood designed dust wrapper has three mended tears, one to the bottom of the front panel and two to the top corners. All three have been mended to the reverse of the jacket with archival tape. The wrapper is in complete condition and is not price clipped displaying 9/6 net on the inside flap. The publishers original maroon cloth boards are in nice condition. It is a tight and square copy, unmarked by ink. There is light flecking to the text block and some browning to the first couple of pages. Overall a very good copy. A respectable copy of this very rare espionage / murder mystery novel. It is the first one of five penned pseudonymously by Eric Ambler and Charles Rodda. It has become rare to find Eliot Reed novels of late, and in particular the early ones including this one.  . Overall though, the jacket is fairly complete and not price clipped. The panels are clean and without marks. The book is in excellent condition, with only a bumped top corner for wear and some light sporadic foxing to the side text block. The dark green top stain is bright and the pages are very clean. The book has been signed by the author and 1953 team member Wilfrid Noyce on the title page without dedication. In addition the book comes with an Edmund Hillary order of service signed by the then remaining expedition team members George Lowe, Alf Gregory, George Band and Mike Wesmacott. The booklet was signed through The Himalayan Trust when George Band was its chairman. It is rare to find the book signed along with the multi signed order of service.   . Very Good.
