Stamp at lower right corner.<br/><br/> Fabulous oversize portrait of Charles Philippe, the Count of Artois - later Charles X of France. He was known as a charming, frivolous and impulsive King and before the Revolution, as a Count, he was a close friend of Marie Antoinette. Text reads 'S.A. Royale, Monsieur, Charles-Philippe de France, Comte d'Artois, Colonel-General de Garde Nationale. Ne a Versailles le 9 Octobre 1757'. Henri Buguet, a French historical and portrait painter, was born at Fresne in 1761. He was a pupil of Jacques Louis David, and painted in 1817 for the château of Pau 'Francis I. knighted by Bayard.' His portraits of Louis XVIII and Charles X have been engraved by Bertrand. He died in Paris about 1833. Hard to find.<br/><br/>

Hurok program of Antonio and the Ballets de Madrid is yellow and black, with dancers on the right side and text on the left. Antonio Ruiz Soler (1921-1996), professionally known as Antonio, was a Spanish flamenco dancer, choreographer, and director. Antonio and the Ballets de Madrid performed extensively in London, and later toured internationally under American impresario Sol Hurok. Good condition, with original folds as issued.<br/><br/>

In the immediate foreground is now lost lighthouse which marked the entrance to the original port of Genoa. The city's harbor extends to the left and has two ships floating in it. Then comes a shoreline dotted with people and boats, behind which the city extends toward the horizon. Buildings are shown at an oblique angle whereby their front facades can be seen straight-on, highlighting the architecture of the city. A key in the bottom margin and running up the right border of the map indicates important sites and buildings. At the top of the print, two cherubs hold a ribbon bearing the view's title. Sheet measures 8.25 x 5.5".<br/><br/> This miniature bird's-eye view shows the Brazilian city of Salvador, one of the oldest cities in the Americas and the colonial capital of Brazil. The importance of this city to colonial trade is indicated by the large ships that fill the foreground of the image on their way into the city's harbor. The map appeared in the French edition of Manesson-Mallet's "Description de L'Univers" and bears the text "De L'Amerique Figure CLV." in the top margin. It is in good condition with minor discoloration at the edges. Allain Manesson-Mallet (1630-1706) advanced from his position of musket bearer under Louis XIV to eventually occupy the position of "maitre de mathematiques" to the French King. In very good condition. Shows some staining. Stitching holes and small chip at left edge. Numeral 19 in pencil at right top corner. The first edition of an inventive engraved alphabet book in which each floridly elaborate letter stands independently in a landscape where it is accompanied by a figure from Greek or Roman mythology whose name begins with the letter in question.<br/><br/>

The launch is described: near the Cape Canaveral area of the chart with: "7:15 am, 3 Oct '62" and the flight time "9 hr 13m" close to the splashdown bull's eye near Midway Island in the Pacific. Near the Canton Island site tracking circle in the western Pacific Ocean, Schirra comments on the performance of Sigma 7: "She is really performing like a jewel! CANTON Orbit #2, Wally Schirra." Walter Marty Schirra Jr. was an American naval aviator and NASA astronaut. In 1959, he became one of the original seven astronauts chosen for Project Mercury, which was the United States' first effort to put human beings into space.<br/> <br/>
