Small, Abner. The Sixteenth Maine Regiment in the War of the Rebellion 1861 - 1865. A reproduction of the edition originally published in Portland, ME by Thurston & Co. in 1886. iii, 323p.The reprint includes a list of other sources on the 16th Maine. The regiment lost heavily at Fredericksburg; at Gettysburg they were essentially sacrificed on the first day to buy time for the Union withdrawal through the town.

A section cut from the folding sheet "The Smaller Islands of the British Ocean" by Robert Mordern. Someone (perhaps the person who divided the sheet) has pencilled on the bottom margin "Morden c1695". I can only guess that this was someone who wish to sell the map of each island individually. Of course if this remaining portion was divided then each map would be missing two or three margins. Maps have not been colored. Dimensions of each map (without margin, when present) are, approximately:Jersey: 6 & 5/16 by 3 & 7/8 in.Alderney: 5 1/2 by 3 in.Garnsey: 5 1/2 by 3 & 7/8 in.The join of the original sheets runs though the middle of Jersey - it i most visible in the photo of the blank back of the page.

Moscow: Progress Publishers 1977. First printing, 280pp. Tipped in erratum at rear. Hardcover with dustjacket in very good condition, but the front hinge is a bit stiff. Dragunsky was with armoured divisions. This account also includes post-war coverage.

English language production from the Foreign Languages Publishing House; more photo-magazine-like than a calendar; The actual calendar has a cardboard backing that slips into the blue case. The 1944 date is a guess that the 1945 calendar was printed before the beginning of 1945. Many large photos and illustrations, part from the war, part from their cultural history. Small bumps to corners; very good condition.
