Great condition, charming collection of three facsimile Christmas books. All three books are beautifully illustrated in color ("Jolly St. Nick" also contains black & white illustrations). The books are "an exact replica of the antique original" that were published circa 1890's. Included are "Santa Claus and His Works," "Jolly St. Nick," and "Who's There?" All books are softcover and were published by the Merrimack Publishing Corporation. This is a great condition issue of "SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN" - A Weekly Journal of Practical Information in Art, Science, Mechanics, Chemistry and Manufactures from March 29, 1862. The issue contains Civil War content, including articles about the ironclads "Monitor" and "Merrimack." Most interesting is a submission from Lieutenant S.D. Green, Executive Officer of the Monitor, who gives a first-hand account of the battle with the Merrimack. The battle of the Monitor and Merrimack on March 9, 1862 is the first duel between ironclad warships and marked the beginning of a new era of naval warfare. This issue of Scientific American was published only 20 days after the battle. Condition:The issue is in overall great condition with very minimal wear. The pages are crisp and mostly clean with only a few random stains and foxing spots. The front cover has a library stamp in ink at the bottom margin and "53 271" stamped in ink at the top margin. No writing found.

The pages are in very good condition with only an occasional finger smudge at the outer edge of a few random pages. The rear blank end paper has a small tear at the bottom edge that has been repaired with clear tape.
