Description:
1687 Greek & Latin BIBLE Epistles of Pope Clement I Early Church at Corinth

"Do we then think it to be a great and marvelous thing, if the Creator of the universe shall bring about the resurrection of them that have served Him with holiness in the assurance of a good faith, seeing that He showeth to us even by a bird the magnificence of His promise?"
– Clement I, Epistles

Clement I, considered the first Apostolic Father of the Catholic Church, was pope during the first century AD and known for his epistles to the church at Corinth. This letter is perhaps the earliest Christian document written after the New Testament.
Much like the letter Saint Paul wrote to the Corinthians, Clement I called for immediate repentance and an obedience to church authority. It offers an insight to what the early Christian church valued and how it was affected by the Roman Church. This letter is also one of the earliest works to make a clear distinguishing between bishops, presbyters, and deacons.

1696 Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe Tunisia St Augustine Philosophy Africa Sermons

Fulgentius of Ruspe was a 5th-century bishop of the Roman city of Ruspe in Tunisia. Known as Saint Fulgentius, and not to be confused with Fabius Planciades Fulgentius author of 'Mythologies', this lesser-known theologian wrote works following the teachings of Saint Augustine, giving attention to Arianism and Pelagianism. The surviving works simply include letters and sermons.

This edition was published in 1696 in Venice, collected and edited by Paulo Naldini.

Jacques de Billy de Prunay was a 16th-century Benedictine monk and historian who wrote a rather unique history of the lives and ministries of Saint John of Damascus and Saint Barlaam and Josaphat. The story of Barlaam and Josaphat has long been associated with legend of Buddha, conversions to Christianity, and early Sanskrit history. 17th-century printings of any Barlaam and Josaphat story are rare and desirable, and this 1643 edition from Billy de Prunay is no exception.

1728 RARE Catholic German BIBLE Sacra Biblia Dietenberger anti Luther FOLIO
An incredibly rare 18th-century German Holy Bible. Following the Protestant Reformation, most Bibles published in Germany were printed from a Lutheran perspective, edited and translated from those originally established by Martin Luther. However, a select number of Catholic ministers remained devout through their careers, including 16th-century theologian Johann Dietenberger.
Johann Dietenberger, a Catholic peer of Luther, published a German translation of the Bible and took the majority of his New Testament from Emser's edition. Notably, this edition was highly criticized by Martin Luther. This rare Dietenberger Bible was published in 1728.

Description:
1581 EXORCISMS Demons 1ed Catholic CHANT Baptism Saint Ambrose Baptizandi Occult

A rare and highly desirable 16th-century Catholic treatise on the sacraments. Published in Rome by Giunta, this 1581 work contains black-letter Latin which was typical of much earlier printed books. While the book was written as instructions for baptism, this book contains prayers, hymns, litanies, scripture passages, and even pages of music and chant used in the office proper.

However, the highest value and draw of this particular work is the inclusion of instructions on demon exorcisms! In fact, the final 30 leaves of the book are all on exorcisms, exorcism prayers of Saint Ambrose, types of demons and demonic behavior, and so much more. A fascinating and highly desirable work on 16th-century exorcisms!

This work is incredibly rare and valuable. In fact, there are no copies found in any institution in America!

1919 Mark TWAIN 1st ed Saint Joan of Arc Personal Recollections Howard Pyle ART
"I like 'Joan of Arc' best of all my books; and it is the best."
– Mark Twain
Until the end of the 18th-century, the story of Joan of Arc was merely a legend, and little was written in histories about her life. She is considered a heroine of France and a Roman Catholic saint. Joan of Arc has been a popular figure in cultural history since the time of her death, and many famous writers, filmmakers and composers have created works about her.
One of the most famous and popular accounts of Joan of Arc was Mark Twain's final novel 'Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc'. Twain wrote this novel as a translation of the memoirs of a fictional character Louis de Conte. The memoirs themselves describe Joan of Arc's early life, her trial, and eventual martyrdom by burning. Twain himself regarded this book as his favorite work, and his words attest to its exceptional quality:

Henri Wallon's 'Saint Louis' is one of the most thorough biographical sketches on Louis IX of France. Wallon, however, writes on more than just the life of Louis IX. He describes French architecture, numismatics, politics, military, war, along with dozens of other topics. Other topics include Louis's interest in science and poetry, attempts at gothic art, music, and sculpture, Catholic devotion, and 13th-century French society.

Description:
1889 Charles Spurgeon Saint and His Saviour Baptist Puritan Bible Devotional

A significantly rare printing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon's "The Saint and His Saviour." This instructional and Christian devotional work was written with the intention of guiding new converts to Christianity through the process and stages of belief in Jesus and the subsequent growth experienced with following Jesus according to the teachings of the Bible. He describes the role and aid of the Holy Spirit along with the purpose in facing and overcoming trials throughout life. The primary theme of the book is salvation from sin through faith in Jesus.

Often referred to as the "Prince of Preachers," Charles H. Spurgeon displayed unique talent as an orator and was equally respected as a gifted teacher of the Bible. His coveted sermons and published works are still used today in Biblical research, study, and personal meditation.
