Pages 199-202 (not present in the export edition of the catalog) contains Ophthalmic Instruments made by American Optical. Includes the catalogue, pricelist and ERRATA sheet (not usually present). The pricelist is dated 1946 but the catalogue is undated. Wrappers. A useful catalogue for the collector of these instruments and anyone who wants to use an instrument from this timeframe. It allows the practitioner to determine what accessories were supposed to be present with the instrument as manufactured, specifications, etc. Many nice illustrations as well. A standard reference for anyone interested in Spencer / AO instruments.

This copy has been read well, but has held up nicely. Cloth. A fascinating view into what was though important to teach in automobile safety in 1924. Over 50 full page plates reproducing photographs showing actual street scenes (many in NY City) which illustrate not only what street level scenes looked like at the time, but also each plate notes the cautionary approach drivers should use. The salesman could add various portraits to the assemblage by separating the two half dowels, adding additional portraits, and screwing the assemblage together again. This example has a linen guard to protect the paper portrait as it is rolled and snapped shut. Leather roll is approx 17 inches wide and two foot long. Portrait in this case is of a distinguished man in a suit, shoulders up. Marked on the rear of this portrait (which is paper laid onto linen) is a stamp "Crayon" and various sizes and costs. Chicago: H. G. Fischer & Co., Inc, 1st quarter 20th century. Five ring Binder. Very Good. An exceptional salesman's book with photographs of products made by the company. There are twenty seven 7 1/2 x 10 inch photographs laid down on linen. The whole in a five ring binder with the company's information impressed on the front cover (faded). Image tonality varies, some faded, some sharper. Five ring Binder. The first two images are collages of other photographs using Diathermy for everything from hemorrhoids to sinus infections to the treatment of Pneumonia. The next twenty three images are of company products, each with model number, name, order code, and often the price. The Fischer Type "R" Milliampere Radiographic Unit (code REXRA) is impressive, and should be at $665. The GP2 Portable Diathermy and Electrocoagulation apparatus is only $285. Quincy, Illinois: Monroe Chemical Company, [not dated]. First Edition. Very Good. First Edition. Two slightly different copies offered. Folder consisting of hinged cardstock with samples inlaid and flexible cloth spines. 9 7/8 x 6 3/8 inches. Overall external wear (scuffing, writing, edgewear) but inside samples in fine condition. We kept these together as they are clearly from the same manufacturer even though only one is marked as Monroe Chemical Company. One example has 44 swatches, the other 38 swatches. Apparently constructed with samples laid down, and then a die-cut label pasted on each side leaving small windows of color samples on an unknown substance. One could use the tints by dipping in warm water. To dye requires the use of boiling water. Scarce, with only one example (University of Delaware) in OCLC/Worldcat as of this writing.
