Decorative color covers: an illustration of a bustling Tacoma waterfront on the front cover, and a photo image of Tacoma high school and stadium on the back cover. Very good condition, minor wear along edges (not affecting contents or descriptive text.)

(4 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches) Los Angeles: Ward Ritchie Press, Printed for Members of the Roxburghe Club and the Zamorano Club September 1964. 26 pages of historical text [plus 16 pages printed on yellow paper purportedly reproducing, in facsimile, a "Souvenir Sporting Guide" (a guide to the prositutes and madames) for gentlemen visitors to the Fiesta de Los Angeles in 1897, illustrated with two vintage black and white half-tone photos, dust jacket.

Very good condition, title in gilt on hardcover cloth spine. Partial dedication reads: "Presented by Robert J. Woods, W. W. Robinson, Everett G. Hager, John H. Urabec and The Ward Ritchie Press Los Angeles."

Very good condition (showing normal shelf wear to corners and along spine), printed on wove paper (minor age blemishes to a few pages, not affecting text or contents), armorial bookplate.

Colt volume has 422 pages, and the Winchester volume has 402 pages; both are printed on coated stock, and profusely illustrated with black and white and color photographs including several fold out plates. There is a General Index, and a Model Index in each book.

The Colt volume, published in 1974, is bound in blue leatherette, with the title in silver on the front cover over the rampant Colt trademark; the Winchester volume, published in 1975, is bound in red leatherette, with the title in silver over the Winchester horse and rider trademark. The leatherette boxed slip case has minor nicks at the edges, and a few scratches, neither affecting either volume - which are both clean and bright.

Octavo (9 x 4 inches) Original, promotional staplebound brochure printed on stiff paper, with embossed gilt monogram "A" on upper left corner of front cover, folded once to form 12 unnumbered pages, illustrated with drawings and black and white halftone photos, map of Southern California and vicinity with local attractions in relation to the hotel's location.

Evocative of the early 1920s Hollywood: Art Nouveau style sepia drawings on the cover, and at lower margin on every page, projecting the elegance of the hotel; of guests enjoying fine dining, dancing, and golf, while socializing in furs and formal wear.

Very good condition (discreet Peck Judah rubber stamp on front cover, not affecting contents).

The hotel was on Wilshire Boulevard, and the location of the famous Coconut Grove nightclub. Both hotel and nightclub are gone, replaced by a high school.

Bound by the second generation of the same Earle Gray Bindery that originally bound all Fine Arts Press books. Illustrated with photo portraits of Thomas E. Williams and examples of his title pages. A nice association: a notable Santa Ana fine press's biography and bibliography that once belonged to a modern fine press that still exists in San Diego.

Especially useful is the bibliography detailing the output of the Press.
