The first tale, "The Automatic Jumping Bean," defines the author's relationship to his father, who lived a caring, concerned, humane life, yet died unfulfilled because his penchant for inventing went unappreciated and unrecognized. Archive of 4 Original Vintage silver gelatin photographs used for display as lobby cards in movie theaters. Miramax Films, 1992. Three are 8" x 10", one 5" x 8," all in black and white. Reservoir Dogs was Tarantino's first feature-length film and follows a gang of color-named criminals after a simple jewelry heist goes wrong, all skeptical that one of them is an informant. The dialogue heavy, nonlinear and controversial violent style established Tarantino's career and is considered a milestone of independent cinema for its shoe-string budget and critical acclaim at Sundance Film Festival. Photos feature images from the film of Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi and Quentin Tarantino. Movie title, stars, director, and Miramax logo featured on lower white margin. Territorial Slave Code. The Honorable Henry Wilson of Massachusetts. Delivered in the Senate, January 25, 1860. Washington D.C: 1860. First edition. 16 pages 9" x 5.75" inches. Removed from a large volume. Henry Wilson, a Massachusetts senator and Vice President under Ulysses Grant, was an outspoken abolitionist. In this speech, Wilson argues against the constitutionality of slavery in response to Albert Gallatin Brown's speech arguing that slaves, as property, should be subject to the same protections in the territories as any other form of property. Wilson forcefully rejects this claim and identifies "Slave Power" as one of the great evils in the United States, asserting that it "holds the National Government, in all its departments, in absolute subjugation." Wilson gives a history of the government's conciliation to Slave Power but ends his speech with the challenge to "save those Territories to free labor, check the reopening slave traffic, and put the National Government in harmony with a… Read More

Kinnear, a radical Scottish politician and lawyer, advocates for the integration of women's labor wherever appropriate: "there are other things which women can do at least as well as men...Then why should women not do it?" The woman who is guilty of it, unless...she is rich and independent, shall not eat bread for six months thereafter, or twelve, as the House may determine." In this open letter, Wilson decries legislation which would forbid new mothers from working, yet fails to provide any public assistance for them to care for their families. "No Act has been passed decreeing that such women shall not suffer cold or hunger, or to 'deem that they commit an offence' if they are hungry."
