McKee Company, Manufacturing Confectioners, Wholesale Cigars & Tobaccos; Bindley Hardware Co.; Red Bank Mills, Manufacturerof High Grade Flour; and J. B. Published circa 1690-1710 in Blome's History of the Old and New Testaments. Some of the engravings, like this one, included an elaborate banner cartouche honoring one of the patrons whose financial support made publication possible. A second engraving--"Joseph's Chastity"--is printed on the verso. The engraving is in very good good condition: clean and strong impression, with some smudging and faint water-staining outside the image in the margins. London, England: Lowell Reeve, 1858. xvi, 451pages, 2 pages ad for The Literary Gazette, 24 pages Lowell Reeve catalogue, 15 pages catalogue of Francis Frith's 100 Egypt and Nubia stereoviews published by Negretti & Zambra, and 1 page ad for Negretti & Zambra meteorological instruments. Illustrated with a map of Teneriffe and 20 original albumen stereoviews by Smyth. With the Lowell Reeve catalogue dated January 1858, this is the first state of the first edition, one of 1,000 copies printed in January. Charles Piazzi Smyth, Scottish Royal Astronomer, travelled to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, to make astronomical, meteorological, and geological observations using a telescope on Mount Guajara. His scientific observations were reported in "Philosophical Transactions" and this book was his popular account of the expedition. "An Act to allow the exportation of provisions, goods, wares, and merchandize, from Great Britain, to certain towns, ports or places, in North America, which are or may be under the protection of His Majesty's arms; and from such towns, ports or places, to Great Britain, and other parts of His Majesty's dominions." The effect of this act was to amend the American Prohibitory Act of 1776 to to allow the resumption of trade betwenn Britain and those parts of the American colonies that remained under British control. Central City, Colorado: Charles Weitfle, 1879. Stereoview number 328 published by photographer Charles Weitfle in Central City, Colorado, circa 1879. Weitfle moved to Central City, Colorado and opened a photography studio in 1878. He quickly gained renown as his photographs of Colorado towns, mining, railroads, and natural wonders earned awards from the Colorado Industrial Association. The image in this stereoview is a natural rock formation in what is now Pike National Forest. The stereoview is in very good condition: clean and bright, with minimal soiling on the mount.. Eastport, Maine: Stow Wengenroth, 1932. Original stone lithograph completed by Stow Wengenroth in Eastport, Maine in October 1932 and published in an edition limited to 50 impressions.  SIGNED in pencil by Wengenroth.  There were no subsequent editions.  Image size is 8 1/8 inches by 12 1/2 inches.  This is number 30 in Stuckey's catalogue raisonné of Wengenroth's lithographs.  Like many of the artist's earliest lithographs, "Three Trees" has both a brooding atmosphere and a feel of softness (almost like a soft ground etching)--both qualities that characterize his highly sought after images of New York City.
