Jacket a bit rubbed. Uncommon first edition of these addresses from two seminars both held in 1965 just after Eliot's death, one in Pakistan and the other in Bangladesh. Of special interest are those essays on "Eliot in Our Context" covering such topics as "The Impact of Eliot on Bengali Criticism," "Eliot's Impact on Urdu Literature and Thought" and "Eliot's Poetry from the Point of View of Islamic Mysticism." Not usually found in hardbound form.

Handsome copy of one of the LECs special publications, subtitled "With Fifty Examples Collected for The Friends of George & Helen Macy" as a Christmas keepsake. Hunt's "Table Talk" (first published 1851) is apparently his tongue-in-cheek rebuttal to his friend William Hazlitt's 1821-22 essay collection of the same name, which made withering comments about him. The LEC version consists of excerpts from this work -- comments from a variety of writers (Hazlitt included) supposedly made around a dining table. NEWMAN A-22.
