Circa 1890's (there is no date of publication stated); M.A. Donohue & Co.; Chicago. This edition features a color frontispiece and black & white illustrations throughout. Illustrated end papers.Condition:Small, greenish stain at the bottom-right corner of the front cover. The back cover has soiling and some small, light stains. Worn cover corners. Shelf wear along the edges of the boards. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are age-toned (though not brittle) and clean with no issues found. The book features six full-page illustrated plates. Gilt top page edges. Please see the photos for the complete list of contents. The book details daily life and family stories from early days in Massachusetts, particularly in and around the town of Hadley.Condition:Some light soiling to the covers and spine. Sharp cover corners. Bright gilt top page edges. Tight binding with no loose pages. There is an insignificant crack at the front hinge between a blank end paper and the frontispiece (despite the crack, the front cover is still firmly in place and is not shaky). Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the text pages are clean with no notable issues found. "To be given to Smith College" is written in pen on the front pastedown. Old name written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.

This is an early copy of "Under the Window" - Pictures & Rhymes for Children by KATE GREENAWAY. Circa 1890s or earlier (there is no date of publication stated, but there is an inscription on the front end paper dated 1896); George Routledge & Sons; New York. The book is beautifully illustrated in color throughout by Greenaway.Condition:Some light soiling to the front cover; the back cover has some stains along the left edge; worn corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages; there is a 1" paper tear at the front hinge between the end paper and pastedown. The text pages are in great condition and clean with one exception - there is smudging over the last illustration of the Contents section (see photos); name/year (1896) written in pencil on front end paper...no other writing found.

This is an original, vintage United States Naval Academy cadet's "FAREWELL BALL" dance booklet. Leather covers. The Farewell Ball was held on June 5th, 1945 at Dahlgren Hall at the USNA. At the back of the booklet are the names and addresses of seven ladies written in pen. The booklet is small in size - it measures 4 1/4" tall x 3 3/8" wide.Condition:The booklet is in Very Good+ condition. Clean covers. The two "Dances" pages have the name "Tom" written in pen. The blank page at the back has names and addresses written in pen.

This is an early, Swedish language edition of "RESURRECTION" ("Uppstandelse") by Leo Tolstoy. 1927; Baltiska Forlaget Aktiebolag ("Baltic Publishing Company"); Copenhagen, Malmo, Berlin. Translated from the original Russian edition by Maurits Persson. Volume I contains a frontispiece portrait of Tolstoy. Nicely bound in three-quarter leather with marbled covers, gilt lettering/decorations and four raised bands on the spine, and marbled end papers. Complete in two volumes. With a section titled "Explanations" ("Forklaringar") at the back of volume II.Condition:Clean covers. Some rubbing/fading of the cloth on the spines and the cover corners. Shelf wear along the edges of the boards. Both volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. Light wear to the top and bottom edges of the spines. Nice interiors - the text pages of both volumes are clean and nearly appear unread with only some light smudges on pages 150 & 151 of Volume I. Overall the set is in Very Good condition.
