A landmark in color printing, the book was issued simultaneously in two sizes, folio and quarto (as this copy is), with the artwork appearing larger in the folio edition, a feat accomplished thanks to Gustav Seitz's patented pantographic process which allowed him to reproduce chromolithographs in enlarged and reduced sizes.
